Our inaugural campaign aims to revamp the basketball court at Mallard Creek High School, renaming it the Clarence “CJ” Johnson Court. This tribute acknowledges the significant impact Coach CJ has made on the school and the city of Charlotte. With a remarkable 41-year career in community service, Coach CJ is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of the Charlotte AAU community. His commitment to community extended to organizing successful summer leagues and camps, all with a focus on community and youth development. Most recently, Coach CJ left an indelible mark as the Mallard Creek High School girls’ basketball coach until his retirement in 2022.
